Jamie Bowerman is the inventor of Bowerbags, a venture that enhances mobility and ensures safety for the Department of Defense and first responders through modular carrying solutions.
As Bowerbags starts preparing for Virtual Demo Day on Tuesday, April 14th, the SEED SPOT team sat down with Jamie to learn more about this venture’s journey:
What inspired you to start your venture?
Modular transforming backpacks.
What did you hope to gain by applying to SEED SPOT’s Impact Accelerator program?
Being able to explain our company, solutions, and impact.
What’s the most valuable lesson you learned during the Impact Accelerator?
The more feedback the better. If the feedback doesn’t seem right you don’t have to implement it, but by asking for a lot of it you might get some solutions you would have never considered. It was really helpful with my slides for Investment Pitches.
What does the future hold for your venture?
Getting our modular solutions out into the field for first responders who would on the front lines fighting COVID-19.
What is one piece of advice you have for entrepreneurs just beginning their journey?
Forget what you know and never be afraid to pick up and start back at square one if that’s what’s going to help you move forward.
Good luck to Jamie as he gears up to compete at DC Virtual Demo Day on Tuesday, April 14th. To hear him pitch to an online audience for the opportunity to win cash prizes, please RSVP HERE.
