These services provide affordability, accessibility and efficiency to organizations large and small.  How do cloud solutions do this and what are the tangible effects on business. Prior to the cloud revolution, businesses utilizing software applications relied predominantly on “on premise” deployment.  This type of integration required a massive investment in resources both human and financial.  Companies were required to build their own infrastructure and hosting environment (servers, storage space, electrical infrastructure) and the requisite personnel to maintain these investments.  Changes or upgrades to systems were long and complicated processes often involving collaboration, on site, of the service provider and user employees.  These systems were also rigid, meaning that scaling was another massive investment in resources and man hours.
