Microsoft has been ramping up its preparations for the next major release of Dynamics CRM, which we now know will be called Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013 for on-premise installation and the Dynamics CRM Fall ‘13 release for CRM Online. Recent word from Microsoft is that CRM 2013 (formerly called by the codename, “Orion”) will be available in October 2013.
Last week, Microsoft delivered a full day of online technical and sales “training blitzes” for partners around the world. These blitzes and other recent developments have generated a lot of buzz online, including a number of tweeted screen captures, blogs, articles, and comments.
An illustration explaining the new CRM 2013 UI:
There are a lot of changes coming with CRM 2013, including a completely re-designed interface with a new, touch-optimized navigation, “process-flow” forms that build on the Polaris forms released earlier this year, synchronous workflows, a new tablet client, and much more.
Customers and partners are already receiving notices from Microsoft on planned dates for upgrades to their CRM Online instances, so time is short for getting up to speed on the new version and the changes it might have on your deployment.
The new navigation model for CRM 2013 presents a more touch-friendly approach:
ClickDimensions is taking advantage of this time to get ready for the new version of CRM, and we plan to have our CRM 2013-compatible solution available as soon after Microsoft releases the new version as possible.
