DENVER, Nov. 9, 2012 — /PRNewswire/ — UsingMiles.com has become a proud sponsor of Make-A-Wish®, to help the non-profit organization raise a critical resource for the travel wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions nationwide, the organizations announced today.
UsingMiles.com, which enables users to track and manage their rewards programs all in one place, will assist Make-A-Wish in acquiring more airline-mile donations for its Wishes in Flight program.
Nearly 70 percent of wishes require travel, making airline tickets one of the organization’s largest expenses. Make-A-Wish needs more than 2.5 billion miles, or 50,000 round-trip tickets, to grant wishes every year. Every mile donated helps wish kids and their families travel to destinations around the world.
“Giving back to the community is top a priority for UsingMiles,” said Jon Nordmark, the company’s CEO. “By making it easy for our members to donate unused frequent flyer miles to Make-A-Wish, we hope to make a difference in the lives of children and their families across the country.”
“Donated airline miles are an easy and meaningful way for UsingMiles and its members to make wishes come true for children who are battling life-threatening medical conditions. We’re thrilled to play a role in giving the gift of travel to make these life-changing experiences possible,” said Krista Paul, founder of UsingMiles.
“Airline miles are essential in the fulfillment of our mission, whether a wish kid wants to visit a theme park, travel to a unique destination, or just fly to reunite with a close family member,” said David A. Williams, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish America. “We’re excited to welcome UsingMiles as a resource in supporting wishes like these across the country.”
